Nick Lachey is set to return to reality TV - with a new show giving young people the chance to follow their dreams, MTV has confirmed.
According to reports, the show, tentatively titled the “Celebrity Music Mentor Project”, will document the lives of students at Lachey’s alma mater, the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati.
Tony DiSanto, MTV’s Executive Vice President series development and programming, said the project boasts a unique format that breaks new ground in the reality arena, similarly to how MTV’s “Laguna Beach” launched a new form of unscripted storytelling. (more…)

Watching his mother cope with ovarian cancer inspired TV doc PATRICK DEMPSEY to help other patients and their families struggling with the disease. Today, he made a special visit to the Central Maine Medical Center to announce plans for the upcoming Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope & Healing, according to multiple news outlets.
"For a family to get a cancer diagnosis is devastating, and all the information out there can be overwhelming," the "Grey’s Anatomy" star, 42, told reporters. "So I talked to my sister about a place where people could go for all this type of information and help. Knowledge is power."
According to the hospital’s Website, "The Dempsey Center’s warm, inviting environment includes a cancer resource library replete with a dedicated computer station for patient/public use that allows internet access to virtual cancer resources. The Center includes an integrative medicine treatment room and dedicated space for cancer support group meetings and educational programs."

NICK LACHEY has offered up a new reality series to MTV. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former "Newlyweds" star has brought to the network an unscripted musical drama that is being described as a reality version of "Fame."
The pilot will center on the lives of students at Nick’s alma mater, the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati.
