Kathy Hilton mother of celebutante Paris Hilton chose the political web site The Huffington Post to voice her opposition. She lashed out at McCain today for approving a campaign ad comparing Democratic rival Barack Obama to Hollywood celebrities Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
“I’ve been asked again and again for my response to the now infamous McCain celebrity ad,” she said. “I actually have three responses. It is a complete waste of the money John McCain’s contributors have donated to his campaign. It is a complete waste of the country’s time and attention at the very moment when millions of people are losing their homes and their jobs. And it is a completely frivolous way to choose the next President of the United States.”

The 2008 Teen Choice Awards were held at Universal City yesterday, with teen queen Miley Cyrus as the host. Miley won every category she was nominated for. But the Jonas Brothers were the big winner taking home six ceremonial surfboards Sunday.
Joe, Nick and Kevin’s tally was matched only by the CW’s teen soap Gossip Girl, which also notched six wins: Choice TV Drama, Breakout Show, breakout acting nods for Chace Crawford and Blake Lively (who was also named best actress in a drama) and top villain for the diabolical Ed Westwick.
Chris Brown also hauled away five awards. The 19-year-old heartthrob was named Choice Male Artist and R&B Artist; his “Forever” was named top R&B track; his collaboration with Lil Mama and T-Pain, “Shawty Get Loose,” won for rap/hip-hop track, and he shared a win with Jordin Sparks for choice musical hookup for their ballad “No Air.”
